FULL FEE POLICY, The Age (January 2008)

Labor’s policy of abolishing Domestic Undergraduate Full Fee (DUFF) places (23/11, p11) has several undesirable consequences. For example, it will make universities move their high demand courses into postgraduate level which is exempt from full fees, to rake in income from lucrative programs. It will further increase the rampant credentialism.

Labor should either reverse its policy of abolishing DUFF or ban full fee for postgraduate courses as well.
