UCAT Learning Platform Updates

3 months ago by Chris
At MedEntry, we're constantly improving the platform—not just by adding new UCAT questions, refining existing ones, and updating learning resources, but also by enhancing the overall user experience. Our goal is to ensure students can prepare as effectively as possible. This blog highlights some of the latest updates and improvements we’ve made to support your learning journey.
May 2025 Update
This month, we’ve added a highly requested feature-the ‘Unseen Content Warning’ toggle. This simulates the live UCAT more effectively. We’ve also refreshed the home page layout to prioritize your most-used features.
Online Learning Platform Updates
What's New:
- Unseen Content Warning
Based on student feedback, we’ve added a new setting that disables the popup warning that appears during exams when there’s additional content to scroll through. Many students find this warning distracting early on, while they’re still getting used to the question formats. For this reason, it is disabled by default to create a smoother experience as you get familiar with the UCAT content. You can find this option in the Settings section of your account profile.
Note: We strongly recommend enabling this setting once you begin undergoing simulated practice to ensure you get a realistic feel for the exam environment.
- Home Page Layout Update
We’ve redesigned the home page to better reflect how you use the platform. Based on usage data and student feedback, we’ve moved the most popular features—like the progress tracker and calendar streak—higher up the page.
March 2025 Update
If you've been following the UCAT scene, you know things have changed dramatically compared to last year. Abstract Reasoning (AR) is long gone from UCAT admissions testing, timing for other subtests have been adjusted, and a new scoring structure has been implemented.
Change can be overwhelming, and students and educations are working hard to adapt to this new format. We dove deep into what this means for students and for test preparation. We spent weeks updating our resources and learning materials and implemented thousands of new questions to the online QBank to make up for the missing section. We also added five new full mock exams.
Since then, we've added new, innovative features to help students prepare: updates to our AI chatbot Mai to help with question solutions, a new way to track your mock test results, and some handy new practice management tools.
Online Learning Platform Updates
What's New:
- 5 Full UCAT Mock Exams Added (25 total)
5 brand new, high-quality full length mock exams with fully worked solutions have been added to the online platform to support your preparation.
- Updated Current Exams
We've reviewed and updated questions across our existing exams. This mostly includes rebalancing of different question types to better align with the 2025 UCAT format. We've also adjusted all Decision Making (DM) and Verbal Reasoning (VR) subtest mocks.
- Question Solution Discussions with Mai, Your Virtual UCAT Chatbot
Mai's capabilities have significantly expanded. Mai now understands UCAT questions, as well as MedEntry’s techniques for answering them. She puts this together to help you effectively review your practice attempts. You can now:
- Ask for techniques to solve specific UCAT questions
- Request further explanations or clarification on solutions
- Get links to relevant lessons in MedEntry’s UCAT curriculum
Remember: Mai is an AI assistant that improves with use. Please the upvote/downvote feature to provide feedback on the responses you receive so we can keep improving Mai’s performance. Usage limits apply based on your preparation package, or you can add on an extra Mai pack at any time.
- Official Practice Test Performance
You can now input your results from the official VUE practice tests and a score distribution will be displayed, helping you understand how your performance compares. This feature is available on the full mocks page.
- QBank Practice Management
There are now more ways to manage your QBank practice attempts. You can now:
- Use the "Continue" button to quickly return to a list of your in-progress QBank attempts; or
- Clear incomplete attempts, returning questions to the QBank to be re-attempted in future
- New Virtual Work Experience Resources
New video resources have been uploaded from 2025 Virtual Work Experience sessions.
